A $180 top-handle saw is a strange object. Top handles exist so a climber can work one-handed in a tree, and the saws that are actually built for that — the Stihl MS 194 T, the Echo CS-2511T — cost three to five times this and are sold with training assumptions attached. What Skil has built is a ground-use pruner in a top-handle body: 7.1 lb with its 2.0Ah pack, a fine 1/4-inch pitch chain for clean cuts, 70 cuts of 4x4 lumber per charge. For trimming at head height off a ladder it is genuinely pleasant. In a tree, on a rope, with one hand, it is the wrong tool bought for the right shape, and the 2.0Ah pack would not last a climb anyway.
Best for: Ground-level and ladder pruning where a compact top-handle shape helps; not for climbing work.
