Privacy and affiliate disclosure
What is collected
Ordinary web-server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested), kept for security and debugging, and anonymous usage statistics through Google Analytics, which any content blocker or Google's own opt-out add-on stops. There are no accounts and no newsletter. The contact form sends what you type to the two people who maintain the site and nowhere else.
Cookies and browser storage
No advertising cookies are set here. Google Analytics sets its own cookies under Google's policies. The catalog remembers the filters you chose in your browser's session storage so the back button lands you on the same list; that never leaves your browser and is gone when the tab closes.
Affiliate links
ChainsawRanker is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you follow a “Check price on Amazon” link, Amazon sets a cookie that attributes purchases made in the following 24 hours to this site, and the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. Many saws here are not sold on Amazon at all — Stihl prohibits online sales, and most professional Husqvarna and Echo models are dealer-only — and those link to the maker's own page with no commission to anyone. Commissions never affect which saws are listed, how they are ordered, or what the complaints say.
Prices and ratings
Every price is an approximate snapshot from the last catalog update, marked with a tilde, and the retailer's current price is theirs to state. Star ratings come from one named retailer or dealer listing that is not Amazon; saws with no such listing show no stars rather than a number nobody published.

Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
