With the 18-inch WG304.1 gone from worx.com, this 14.5-amp 16-incher is now the only corded chainsaw Worx sells, and it inherits the role the 304 held for a decade: the plug-in saw people buy instead of learning to run a two-stroke. The specs are the strongest in the corded class on paper — 11 lb, three pounds under B+D's comparable CS1216 and more than four under the CS1518, with a commodity 3/8-inch, .050-gauge, 57-link chain and a 6.76 oz oil reservoir with a sight window. Independent testers have put it among the better corded saws for cut speed. The auto-tension system is the thing to understand before buying: it keeps beginners from running a slack chain, but the knob will happily over-tension if you crank it, and that wears bars. The 3-year warranty is longer than anything B+D offers here.

Best for: Woodpile and storm-cleanup cutting within cord reach, for someone who wants the lightest 16-inch corded saw rather than the cheapest.

Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means

  • 11 lb, lightest big corded saw
  • 3-year warranty
  • Auto-tension chain

Where it is strong

  • 11 lb listed — the lightest of the big-box corded saws here, though Stihl's dealer-only MSE models are lighter still
  • Common 3/8" / .050" 57-link chain, stocked everywhere
  • 3-year warranty, a year longer than B+D or Oregon give on corded saws
  • Oil reservoir has a level window, so you stop guessing
  • Auto-tension removes the single most common beginner mistake

Where it falls short

  • Auto-tension knob over-tightens easily and that accelerates bar wear
  • 14.5 amps on household current still bogs in anything much past 12-inch hardwood
  • Worx lists it as periodically out of stock on its own store
  • Cord-bound; a 100 ft run of 12-gauge is the practical ceiling
  • The 18-inch WG304.1 it replaces is no longer sold, so there is no longer-bar option

Written from the spec sheet and the maker's documentation; owner reports for this model were too thin to summarize.
