Fifteen amps and an 18-inch bar for $99 is the entire pitch here, and B+D has not changed it in years. Spec for spec it reads like the Worx WG304.1 and the Sun Joe SWJ701E — same amperage, same bar, same tool-free tensioner, same automatic oiler — except the CS1518 is the heaviest of the three at a listed 15.7 lb, and B+D does not publish what that figure includes. The .050-gauge chain is the one genuinely good thing about the build: it is the commodity 62-drive-link loop every hardware store stocks, unlike the narrow-kerf .043 chains the brand's battery saws use. Treat the 18 inches as reach rather than capacity — a 15A motor on household current is a 12-inch-wood tool no matter what bar hangs off it, and the extension cord caps the job radius long before the motor complains.
Best for: Homeowners bucking a woodpile within cord reach of the house who want the longest bar available under $100.
Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means
Written from the spec sheet and the maker's documentation; owner reports for this model were too thin to summarize.
