Price and availability on Husqvarna's site may differ.

The top-handle sibling of the 535i XP, same 5.29 lb chassis and same narrow .043 chain, rearranged for working on rope. For climbing work the case for battery is strongest: no exhaust in your face at the top of a tree, no hot muffler against a harness, no restart drama hanging off a rope, and a noise level that keeps residential crews working early. A belt eyelet clips it to the harness. The $490 price is the tool only, which is the usual Husqvarna pro-battery arrangement, so budget a BLi-X pack and charger on top. Where it stops is the same place the 535i XP stops — 1.9 hp and a 14-inch maximum bar make it a pruning and small-removal saw. Crews doing takedowns on battery should be looking at the T542i XP, which adds a clutch and about 25% more output.

Best for: Climbing arborists who want a quiet, fume-free pruning saw and already run Husqvarna BLi-X batteries.

Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means

  • 5.29 lb climbing saw
  • No exhaust or hot muffler in the tree
  • Harness belt eyelet

Where it is strong

  • 5.29 lb without a pack — among the lightest professional top-handles of any power source
  • No fumes, no hot muffler and no restart routine while hanging on rope
  • Quiet enough for early starts in residential neighborhoods
  • Belt eyelet for harness attachment, and an inertia-activated chain brake
  • BLi-X packs are shared across Husqvarna's professional battery range

Where it falls short

  • Tool only at $490 — a pack and charger are extra and roughly double the outlay
  • 1.9 hp and a 14-inch bar ceiling limit it to pruning and small removals
  • No clutch, unlike the T542i XP, which matters when a chain binds
  • Battery weight sits high on the tool once a pack is fitted, changing the balance climbers are used to
  • Top-handle saws carry the highest injury rate in chainsaw work and are for trained climbers only
