Price and availability on Husqvarna's site may differ.

At 5.95 lb this is the lightest gas top-handle Husqvarna sells — only the battery T535i XP undercuts it — and in a saw that hangs off a harness all day that number outranks almost everything else on the spec sheet. Owners and arborist reviewers consistently single out two things: the balance, which generates low gyroscopic force and so fights the operator less when working one-handed on rope, and the belt eyelet that clips it to a harness without a fumble. The 27cc engine makes 1.1 kW, which is pruning and trimming power — the 8 to 12 inch bar range is the honest statement of its limits, and there is no configuration that turns it into a takedown saw. Price is the real objection: $630 for 27cc puts it $200 above the T435, and the T435 does light work acceptably. Note too that this is sold as a professional climbing saw, and some markets require proof of rope-and-harness certification at purchase.

Best for: Certified climbing arborists doing pruning and trimming on rope who want the lightest, best-balanced top-handle available.

Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means

  • 5.95 lb — lightest Husqvarna top-handle
  • Harness belt eyelet
  • 27cc pruning power

What owners like

  • 5.95 lb is the lightest top-handle in the Husqvarna range — over 1.5 lb under the T435
  • Balance is the feature reviewers name first: low gyroscopic force and less fatigue one-handed on rope
  • Belt eyelet clips the saw to a climbing harness quickly without a carabiner fumble
  • X-Torq 27cc engine is frugal, and the 3/8 mini S93G chain is cheap and stocked everywhere
  • Build quality and first-pull starting are the consistent notes in professional user reports

Common complaints

  • 1.1 kW and a 12-inch maximum bar — strictly a pruning and trimming saw
  • $630 is roughly $200 over the T435 for a saw that cuts less wood
  • Sold as a professional climbing saw; some markets require rope-and-harness certification to buy it
  • Top-handle saws are the highest-injury category in chainsaw work and should not be a homeowner's ladder saw
