Price and availability on Greenworks's site may differ.

Shorter bar, same motor: the 60V 16-inch runs the identical 2.0 kW brushless unit as Greenworks' 60V 18-inch, which makes it the better-balanced of the pair and the one to pick if most of your wood is under a foot. Side-mounted tensioning, a transparent oil window, and an inertia chain brake are all present, and 66 ft/s is respectable for the class. The problem is the kit Greenworks sells: $330 buys only a 2.5Ah battery, and the claimed 100 cuts per charge is the shortest run of any 16-inch saw in their range — the 80V 16-inch costs $30 less, ships a 4.0Ah pack, and claims 250. Unless you are already invested in 60V, the arithmetic argues against this one. The tool-only SKU (2019202T) is where it makes sense.

Best for: Existing Greenworks 60V owners who want a better-balanced 16-inch saw than the 18-inch on the same platform.

Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means

  • 2.0 kW, 66 ft/s
  • Side-access chain tensioner
  • 4-year tool and battery warranty

Where it is strong

  • Same 2.0 kW motor as the 60V 18-inch in a better-balanced package
  • Side-mounted tensioner and oil-level window are genuinely useful at this price
  • Inertia-activated chain brake rather than a hand-guard-only mechanism
  • 60V is Greenworks' broadest platform — over 75 tools share the pack

Where it falls short

  • $330 for a 2.5Ah pack claiming only 100 cuts — the worst runtime-per-dollar in the Greenworks lineup
  • The 80V 16-inch kit costs less, carries a bigger battery, and claims 2.5x the cuts
  • Published weight excludes the battery
  • Kit pricing has drifted above the tool-only SKU's value proposition
