EGO's 2,500-watt answer to the 50cc gas saw, and the model that pushes the CS1804 aside. Chain speed is 22 m/s on a 3/8" low-profile .050 chain, the digital display reports cut speed and charge instead of leaving you to guess, and EGO claims 330 cuts in a 4x4 on the included 6.0Ah pack. It accepts 14" and 16" bars too, which is unusual in this class and useful if you want one saw for two jobs. The complaint that dominates reports is the same auto-tensioning dial EGO uses across the line: it is fiddly to set precisely with gloves on, and owners describe chains loosening or coming off when pushing hard or cutting small fibrous limbs. It is also heavy — 16.4 lb with the 6.0Ah pack, against 10.1 lb for the saw with bar and chain alone, so most of that weight is battery you cannot remove and still cut.

Best for: Property owners already on 56V who want gas-class bucking power and a saw that can drop to a 14" bar for limbing.

Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means

  • 2,500 W, 22 m/s chain
  • Takes 14", 16", or 18" bars
  • 330 cuts on a 4x4

What owners like

  • 2,500 W and 22 m/s is the fastest chain EGO puts on an 18" bar, and the 50cc equivalence claim is backed by a real .050-gauge chain rather than narrow kerf
  • Rated for 14", 16", and 18" bars — one saw covers limbing and bucking without buying a second
  • Digital display shows cut-speed mode, charge state, and whether the brake is engaged
  • 330 claimed cuts in a 4x4 on the included 6.0Ah pack, the highest figure in EGO's range
  • Metal bucking spikes and a 200 ml oil reservoir with a sight window

Common complaints

  • The auto-tensioning dial is the most-reported problem: hard to set precisely with gloves, and owners report chains loosening or thrown under hard cutting
  • 16.4 lb with the 6.0Ah pack — among the heaviest 18" saws of any kind
  • $449 for the kit, and a spare 6.0Ah pack is a significant extra cost on top
  • Needs the 6.0Ah pack to hit the quoted figures; smaller packs cut the saw's output
  • New enough in 2026 that long-term durability reports are thin
