4.6/5 across 615 reviews on Home Depot. Nobody reviews saws here; that number is theirs.

The quiet long-server of Echo's homeowner line. The CS-352 has been on Home Depot shelves long enough to bank 615 reviews at 4.6 stars, and the reviews that matter are the old ones — owners coming back years later to say they cut six cords a season, dropped 20-inch oak and maple with it, and have done nothing but clean the filter. At $259.99 with a 16-inch bar it sits $40 under the newer CS-3510 and gets a tool-free air filter cover, side-access tensioner and the i-30 starter, which is most of what a casual cutter actually touches. What it gives up is real: at 8.8 lb it is the heaviest of Echo's small saws despite having the smallest engine of the three, it makes do with standard rather than 3-point spring anti-vibration, and 34cc through a 16-inch bar means slow work in anything big. Buy it for the track record, not the spec sheet.

Best for: Occasional cutters who want the most proven cheap Echo rather than the newest one.

Manufacturer figures except the engine class and single-pass cut, which are derived here. What each spec means

  • 4.6 stars across 615 Home Depot reviews
  • Years of owner service reports
  • $259.99 with a 16-inch bar

What owners like

  • 4.6-star Home Depot aggregate across 615 reviews — the strongest retail record of any current Echo homeowner saw
  • Owners report cutting several cords a year for five-plus years on nothing but routine maintenance
  • i-30 starter, tool-free air filter cover and side-access tensioner at $259.99
  • Automatic clutch-driven oiler only feeds oil when the chain turns, so bar oil lasts
  • 5-year consumer warranty, and a California-compliant version is sold separately for CARB states
  • Cheapest route into a 34cc Echo — $40 under the CS-3510

Common complaints

  • 8.8 lb dry — heavier than the 34.4cc CS-3510 and CS-3410 despite the smaller engine
  • Standard anti-vibration rather than the 3-point spring system on the CS-35xx saws
  • 34cc behind a 16-inch bar is slow in hardwood much over 12 inches
  • 16-inch bar only, with no upgrade path
  • An older design that Echo is clearly steering buyers away from toward the CS-3410 and CS-3510
